SUMMARY:Leading with Impact: Measuring What Matters in ResearchOps
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/leading-with-impact-measuring-what-matters-in-researchops/] \n\n\n\nAs research operations continue to mature\, leaders are increasingly challenged to show clear\, measurable impact\, not just in what gets done\, but in how it shapes decision-making\, culture\, and business outcomes. In this session\, Pedro Vargas explores how to elevate ResearchOps from a support function to a strategic force within the organization. \n\n\n\nPedro will unpack: \n\n\n\n\nDefining and demonstrating ResearchOps impact – focusing on outcomes over activities to show how research drives decisions\, shapes culture\, and fuels growth. \n\n\n\nUsing metrics to tell a compelling story – identifying what to measure\, how to interpret data meaningfully\, and when to go beyond numbers to capture the full value of research. \n\n\n\nBuilding trust and influence with leadership – communicating impact clearly when navigating high-stakes contexts. \n\n\n\n\nYou’ll walk away with actionable strategies for quantifying and communicating impact\, strengthening relationships with leadership\, and embedding ResearchOps as a trusted\, influential partner across your organization.

SUMMARY:Lean Thinking in UX Research: Maximizing Value\, Minimizing Waste
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/lean-thinking-in-ux-research-maximizing-value-minimizing-waste/] \n\n\n\nIn this session\, Sara Ulius-Sabel (Sr. Staff UX Researcher at ServiceNow) explores how Lean Thinking — a systematic approach originating from Toyota’s manufacturing practices — can transform how we approach UX research operations. \n\n\n\nResearch teams are under increasing pressure to deliver more value with constrained resources. But what if the real problem isn’t doing more with less\, but rather eliminating what doesn’t add value in the first place? Sara will share how Lean Thinking helped her identify and eliminate waste throughout her career\, from UX design and user research at Whirlpool to UX research at ServiceNow. \n\n\n\nWe’ll explore the seven types of waste in research operations (waiting\, defects\, over-processing\, inventory\, motion\, overproduction\, and transportation) and how to systematically identify and eliminate them. We’ll also discuss a timely new dimension: How does AI fit into Lean Thinking? As AI becomes both a producer of research artifacts and a consumer of our inputs\, how can we use this shift as a catalyst to fundamentally rethink value and waste? \n\n\n\nAttendees will gain: \n\n\n\n\nA framework for identifying the seven types of waste in their research operations\n\n\n\nPractical strategies to minimize waste and maximize value for stakeholders\n\n\n\nUnderstanding of how to apply Lean principles to AI integration in research\n\n\n\nActionable steps to audit and improve their research workflows\n\n\n\n\nThis session is ideal for UX researchers\, research ops professionals\, and research leaders seeking to operate more efficiently and deliver greater impact.

SUMMARY:Doing Research in an AI World: Understanding Tradeoffs and Owning Impact
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/doing-research-in-an-ai-world-understanding-tradeoffs-and-owning-impact/] \n\n\n\nUsing AI in research workflows is fairly common practice now. But many teams still struggle with knowing what good research with AI looks like. \n\n\n\nIn this session with Maria Rosala\, Director of Research at NN/g\, we’ll discuss where human judgement is critical in the research process\, how to assess tradeoffs between quality and speed\, and why claims like “AI removes bias” can be misleading. \n\n\n\nWe’ll also tackle the real pressures researchers are facing right now (from a tough job market to heightened ROI scrutiny)\, and share practical takeaways on how to adapt as the research role continues to evolve.
