SUMMARY:[In-person] Workshop: Listening deeply - with research pioneer Indi Young
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/in-person-workshop-listening-deeply-with-research-pioneer-indi-young/] \nListening deeply is a powerful skill. In this workshop you’ll learn to cut through the noise of your own mind to truly understand your customers’ needs. Elevate your understanding and establish deeper connections for impactful solutions.  \n\nIf you are a researcher\, a listening session is very different than an interview. Learn how to let the participant direct the conversation and how to encourage the participant to uncover a trio of concept types that provide the richness of understanding you need in your data. \nAbout the teacher\n\nIndi Young– research pioneer\, book author and coach with 30 years of experience\n\n\nIndi is a researcher who coaches\, writes\, and teaches about inclusive product strategy. Her work is rooted in the problem space where the focus is on people\, not users. Indi pioneered opportunity maps\, mental model diagrams\, and thinking styles. Her way of approaching the problem allows teams to truly pay attention to people\, without letting cognitive bias and assumptions creep in. \n \nIndi has written three books\, Practical Empathy\, Mental Models and Time to Listen. She is at work on a book series\, Assumptions Aside\, that begins with listening and goes on to cover thinking styles and using opportunity maps to guide responsible design strategy. She builds knowledge and community via a series of live online advanced courses about the importance of pushing the boundaries of your perspective. She was one of the founders of Adaptive Path\, the pioneering UX agency.\n
