SUMMARY:How Google uses Critical User Journeys
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/how-google-uses-critical-user-journeys/] \n\n\n\nGoogle has been an early advocate of critical user journeys (CUJ) and how they help product teams become more user-centric. It seems so self-explanatory and obvious when Google tells about CUJs – almost like watching the smooth strikes of a tennis player at the US Open thinking “Well\, I could hit a ball like that – once at least”. However\, the devil is in the details. \n\n\n\nTo understand how to spin that CUJ ball\, I’ll sit down with Javier Andrés Bargas-Avila\, UX Director at Google. Javier has been a UX research leader at Google for over 13 years and spearheaded the implementation of Critical User Journeys for several products at Google. \n\n\n\nAgenda \n\n\n\n1. What are Critical User Journeys and why should you use them?2. A blueprint for finding and prioritizing CUJ3. How to turn CUJs into a product roadmap4. Measuring CUJ happiness for continuous improvement \n\n\n\nKey learnings \n\n\n\nJavier will share his wisdom on how to find and prioritize CUJs as well as inform your product roadmap. He’ll also showcase how you can measure CUJ happiness & health so you can keep on improving. \n\n\n\nAbout Javier \n\n\n\nJavier is a UX Director at Google with over 20 years of experience\, passionate about building excellent products that delight users. He worked on some of the world’s most recognizable products\, from YouTube to Ads and Google Cloud. He also built Google’s largest Quantitative UX Research team and spearheaded the centralization of research at Google Play. Javier has also been a lecturer at the University of Basel teaching UX related courses. \n\n\n\n➡️ Register for free

SUMMARY:[In-person] Workshop: Listening deeply - with research pioneer Indi Young
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/in-person-workshop-listening-deeply-with-research-pioneer-indi-young/] \nListening deeply is a powerful skill. In this workshop you’ll learn to cut through the noise of your own mind to truly understand your customers’ needs. Elevate your understanding and establish deeper connections for impactful solutions.  \n\nIf you are a researcher\, a listening session is very different than an interview. Learn how to let the participant direct the conversation and how to encourage the participant to uncover a trio of concept types that provide the richness of understanding you need in your data. \nAbout the teacher\n\nIndi Young– research pioneer\, book author and coach with 30 years of experience\n\n\nIndi is a researcher who coaches\, writes\, and teaches about inclusive product strategy. Her work is rooted in the problem space where the focus is on people\, not users. Indi pioneered opportunity maps\, mental model diagrams\, and thinking styles. Her way of approaching the problem allows teams to truly pay attention to people\, without letting cognitive bias and assumptions creep in. \n \nIndi has written three books\, Practical Empathy\, Mental Models and Time to Listen. She is at work on a book series\, Assumptions Aside\, that begins with listening and goes on to cover thinking styles and using opportunity maps to guide responsible design strategy. She builds knowledge and community via a series of live online advanced courses about the importance of pushing the boundaries of your perspective. She was one of the founders of Adaptive Path\, the pioneering UX agency.\n

SUMMARY:Executive Alignment for UX and Product Leaders
DESCRIPTION:[URL of this listing: https://usercalendar.com/event/executive-alignment-for-ux-and-product-leaders] \nUX and product professionals have been trying to ’swim upstream’ for decades. Even though we have data to prove the value of our work\, we still don’t have the influence and seat-at-the-table that we need to help our companies create products people love to use (and are happy to pay for). \nTamara Adlin\, a product and UX expert\, has a new perspective on this problem and a new practical way to solve it. We have to understand what life is like for senior stakeholders and executives. We have to tune into the game of telephone they play with each other and know that ‘being on the same page’ never actually happens. We have to see the impact of executive misalignment from the top down.  \nTamara will introduce us to her solution and a new set of practical tools to create Executive Alignment in Five Conversations. She will show us a new way to create and use ‘alignment personas’ to rethink strategy\, create a user-centered vocabulary and define goals and priorities that stick throughout your projects. \n➡️ Register for free
